What I like about the Texas Hill Country

Admittedly, I am not a native Texan.  I wasn’t born here and I don’t have a generational Texas legacy I wish I could lay claim to, but I can say that ever since I was in middle school many years ago, there was something about Texas that just intrigued me.  Perhaps it was the idea that Texas was known for cowboys (both real and football players) or that Nolan Ryan was from the Lone Star state (I am a big baseball fan) or the incredible college traditions or possible the obvious state pride people have from Texas have, but something drew my wife and I to Texas about 7 years ago.

Then came the challenging part…what part of this massive state do we settle down in and raise our three sons?  From the plains of West Texas to the rolling hills of East Texas to the Coastal Bend to the Hill Country, there are so many great places to choose from.

Ultimately, we chose the Hill Country for a variety of reasons, none the least of the beauty it has to offer.  Although we don’t have any real mountains in the Hill Country, we certainly do have our share of large hills, valleys and topography changes.  We also have several rivers that flow through the Hill Country that you can take advantage of either by swimming, fishing, kayaking or floating (which we have done several times as a family).

The Hill Country is also home to so many neat, historic small towns that have so much character and history (so does Texas in general). Towns such as Boerne, Fredericksburg, Blanco, LLano, Kerrville, Wimberly, Dripping Springs and many more are fun to check out in person and each one of them seems to have a different vibe from the other.

We love the live music options, the many restaurants, the sports, the community pride and more but most importantly, we have truly enjoyed getting to know so many great people and creating strong friendships with native Texans who have welcomed us to this great state of Texas!

Hill Country Flat Fee Realty serves the Boerne, Fair Oaks Ranch, New Braunfels, Kerrville, Comfort, Bandera, San Antonio Fredericksburg & Johnson City markets.  We offer our sellers 4 options to chose from, all of which include local MLS and national exposure, which is what really matters.  For more information about our 4 options, please visit: https://hillcountryflatfeerealty.com/choose-an-option-2/.
