An easy way to save money on your energy bill!

I recently came across an article on Realtor.com (the link is provided towards the end of this blogpost that caught my eye pretty quickly. With rising inflation, high gas prices prices, increasing costs of goods and services, who wouldn’t be interested in saving some money each month, especially if it is pretty simple to do.

Case in point, admittedly I did not realize that by keeping certain devices plugged and “on” 24/7 can really increase your monthly electric bill. Devices such as TV’s, cell phones, laptops, game consoles and more, when continuously plugged in, will continue to draw power/electricity all day and night even when not being used. Of course when being utilized, they will draw even more power, which is understandable.

It is recommended to unplug various devices in your house or even garage when not in use as to cut back on the amount of electricity these devices draw. However, being consistent to unplug and replug devices each and every day can be a chore and it may become challenging to be consistent each day or night to do so. The ideal way to accomplish this would be to have power strips with an on/off switch or button that you can simply turn on and off.

The article suggests that if you can do this consistently to multiple devices (think lawn equipment batteries in garages, cell phones, TV’s, game consoles, laptop computers, etc.), you will experience a noticeable reduction in your electric bill.
