We have all seen the “eyesore” house that stands out (in a very bad way) on a block that most certainly drives the other proud home owners crazy as it disparages the entire street with its’ unsightly or dilapidated appeal. I used to be quite active in taking many of these homes on (we would purchase many of the them while in the pre-foreclosure phase) and remodeling them with the goal of reselling them to end-user home buyers.
Often times the homes we would purchase were actually in pretty decent shape and the rehab efforts were fairly minimal, however, there were plenty of them that needed way more than just a little TLC. I ran across an article on realtor.com this morning that made me reminisce about some of the homes I have purchased in the past and made me appreciate what a nice job these rehab investors did to this particular house.
